THE HEART OF NORDIC CASABLANCA During the Second World War, Östermalm was not just a district. It was one of Europe’s most active hubs for intelligence operations. On this in-depth walking tour, we take you to the place where everything converged — where spies, diplomats, and covert networks operated in the shadows and quietly influenced the course of the war. Drawing on newly uncovered documents and lesser-known sources, we reveal both the structures that formed this intelligence hub — and the individuals who moved at its very core. You will gain a deeper understanding of Sweden’s role during the war, beyond the simplified narrative often presented. SECRET FEMALE SPIES – SHADOWS BEHIND THE CASABLANCA OF THE NORTH
During the Second World War, Stockholm was a hub of intelligence activity. But behind many of the most decisive operations were not the men who appeared in official roles. They were women. This tour continues where The Secret War in Stockholm ends. Here, we go deeper – into the networks, relationships, and hidden roles that shaped the game behind the scenes. You will encounter twelve women who moved between diplomacy, resistance movements, and intelligence services – often with multiple identities, loyalties, and missions at once. Several operated in Stockholm. Others influenced what happened here. Together, their stories reveal a deeper understanding of why the city became known as “The Casablanca of the North” – and what truly lay beneath that name. 📍 Meeting point: Villagatan 17, Östermalm 🔒 For groups & private bookings This tour is also available as a private experience for companies, organizations, and closed groups. We have experience organizing tours for both private clients and government agencies, including within the defense sector. Fixed pricing applies regardless of group size. We offer invoicing and are fully registered for tax (F-tax) and VAT. 👉 Contact us for a quote or custom arrangement 🕵️‍♀️ Recommended sequence For the full experience, we recommend combining this tour with: THE SECRET WAR IN STOCKHOLM – THE CASABLANCA OF THE NORTH Together, they form a complete narrative of espionage, power, and people in wartime Stockholm. 🔒 IMPORTANT In accordance with the guidelines of the Swedish Consumer Agency, refunds are only provided in the event of cancellation by the organiser. TOP SECRET URSVIK - NUKES, NUCLEAR SUBMARINES AND REAL SPY GADGETS
Welcome to Sweden's most secretive walking adventure and one of Sweden's most protected places This is our oldest and still one of our most requested experiences. We are in the area around the former top secret military complex in Ursvik — a place that during the Cold War was so sensitive that it was missing from many maps. Here activities connected with the Militärromområde Öst (Milo Ö)  and FOA were conducted, at a time when Sweden was quietly preparing for a war that never came. WHAT DO YOU GET TO EXPERIENCE? What was hiding in the now-reactivated rock facilities in the area? What did the outside world really know about the business here? What did the \\ “Russians” \\ know about the area? How far did Sweden's nuclear program actually go? And what is meant by the so-called \\ “radioactive the pigs”? \ SETUP -- TWO PARTS This experience consists of two distinct parts: 🔹 The Walking tour (about 60 minutes) We walk a short loop in the area (about 1 km, level ground) where the business was once conducted. Here we put the location in context and show how the area was used in practice — in a place where most of the activity was hidden underground. 🔹 Optional briefing & artefacts (about 1.5—2 hours) After the walk, we gather for an in-depth review. Here we go further into: FOA's activities and research projects Sweden's military preparations during the Cold War how intelligence work actually works in practice We are also concerned with the development of materials and solutions with both military and civilian significance, including: early applications that came to form the basis of what is used today in JAS 39 Gripen the so-called “Swedish Additive”, a mysterious substance that “everyone” uses solutions that later received civil expressions -- e.g. “the net brow”, with roots in military function We also showcase authentic items linked to intelligence and military history, including: spy cameras such as MINOX but also cameras hidden in ladies' bags and cigarette cases from the 1950s encryption equipment with unique background satellite phone from modern military use in Afghanistan as well as other objects related to Swedish and foreign intelligence gathering (espionage) THIS IS NOT A DRAMATIZED EXPERIENCE What we tell you is based on: documented events real activities historical material The focus is on providing an in-depth and accurate picture of Sweden's role during the Cold War -- including things that are rarely discussed openly. A real spy case. Expose the traitor! 🎯 AN EXPERIENCE BEYOND THE USUAL Stockholm, 1943. In the midst of World War II, a spy case takes place in the hidden. This is not a city walk. This is not an escape room or a classic “murder mystery”. It's an intelligence mission. You get access to material based on real events — and your task is to identify together who is the traitor before time runs out. ⚔️ THAT'S HOW IT WORKS You are divided into smaller teams Before the mission begins, you will quickly get a picture of what each person is good at All teams work with the same materials and the same assignments You have 60 minutes to solve the case You compete against each other — and against the clock Cell phones aren't allowed -- after all, they didn't exist in 1943. What you have is what is in front of you — and each other. No shortcuts. Just your ability to think, collaborate and make decisions. 🧠 MORE THAN A GAME Unlike traditional escape rooms or “murder mystery” games, Spy Transmitter is not based on a fictional story or predetermined moments. MISSION — THE NETWORK
STOCKHOLM, 1944 Swedish signals intelligence has recorded repeated radio transmissions from Södermalm. Information leaves the country. An intelligence network operates in the city -- but no one knows how it is structured. You will have access to all the material. Your task is to understand it before the next transfer takes place. YOUR MISSION You work for counterintelligence. You will have access to: reconnaissance reports interrogation protocol character acts map material ciphers and signals intelligence Your task is to determine: who is the signalman who leads the network; how information moves where the next meeting takes place THIS IS NOT A REGULAR TEAM BUILDING This is a mission. It is not enough to find an answer. You have to be able to show how you came up with it. You will: work under time pressure analyze conflicting information having to rely on each other's strengths Not all information is relevant. What matters is what you choose to trust. *WHAT DOES THE ASSIGNMENT PROVIDE? * This is not a traditional team building. Assignments — The network is an advanced decision-making exercise in which participants work with complex and conflicting information under time pressure. The exercise shows how individuals and teams actually act when it comes to: how decisions are made when the image is incomplete what assumptions govern the analysis how information is valued, filtered and interpreted how responsibility is taken — or avoided It is an exercise in analysis, judgment, and collaboration on a level that directly mirrors real-world decision-making environments. SO IT GOES You are divided into smaller teams and work in parallel with exactly the same material. All teams have the same conditions. The difference is determined by analysis, structure and collaboration. The mission concludes with a joint briefing where the solution is presented and linked to how intelligence work actually works. LAYOUT Mission: 90 minutes Group size: 12-30 people Teams: 4—7 people per team Conducted at your location PRICE Assignments — The network is booked at a fixed total price per implementation. **Price: SEK22,000 It's a mission. It's a prize. Same conditions for all teams. Maximum of 35 participants per session. In case of more participants, please contact us for a quote. THIS INCLUDES Complete mission (90 minutes) Ready-made analysis kits for all teams Onsite instruction and implementation Joint review and analysis after the assignment IMPLEMENTATION The mission itself runs for 90 minutes. In addition to this are added: introduction joint review after completion of the assignment Total time commitment is planned in consultation prior to implementation. BOOK THE MISSION Do you want to implement Missions — Network at your place? Contact us for quotation and availability: 📧 info@swedishspytours.com 📞 +46 73 730 94 99 *Available appointments are booked quickly — contact us well in advance. * CANCELLATION RULES Cancellation up to 14 calendar days before event: free 13-7 days before event: 50% charged 7 days or less before event: full charge *FOR WHOM DOES THE MISSION FIT? * The exercise creates a common frame of reference for how decisions are made under pressure — and what factors actually influence outcomes. This makes it particularly relevant for: company management; decision groups project team with high responsibility organizations where analysis and judgment are crucial RESULTS After the mission, you have not just solved an intelligence case. You have gained a concrete picture of how you work as a decision maker and as a team when: time is limited the information is incomplete multiple interpretations are possible *SEE CLEARLY. THINK FOR YOURSELF. ACT RIGHT. *

About Swedish Spy Tours / Swedish Spy Museum

Reco.seSwedish Spy Yours and Swedish Spy Museum Projekt is a partially non-profit public education project about imparting knowledge about Sweden's very exciting history as well as creating an intelligence history museum in Sweden, a” Swedish Spy Museum”. Our subsidiary is Swedish Spy Tours which specializes in city walks and other events.

Our insider guides take you through stories of spies, agents and secret and covert activities in Sweden throughout history, where we put these in their historical context

Until our project with a physical museum can be realized, we organize lectures and, on the other hand, during the summer months, various “Spion” hikes.

Our spy tours take place in historically interesting areas of intelligence, currently only within Stockholm County, but other hikes may come later.

The walks vary in length but usually last between 2½ to 3½ hours depending on the extent of the hike and the guest's involvement. For more specific information, click the book button under our respective events

Of course, both customized hikes and lectures are offered. For more information, please contact Johan by email: [johan@swedishspymuseum.se](mailto: johan@swedishspymuseum.se) or by phone: 073-730 94 99
