Our very popular walking tour of the World War II spy "capital", Östermalm in Stockholm. Unique fates and stories that show a different picture than the generally known. In this walking tour we included 6 months of research in the Swedish and the English National Archives and can therefore tell you completely new information. Follow along to some of the addresses that housed spy organizations in World War II Stockholm, hear about Astrid Lindgren in counterintelligence, what Norwegian resistance fighters did in Sweden, about “Sepal bases”, why Sweden had 900 Americans “interned” and why Stockholm was called “The Casablanca of the North”. Also, get an explanation for WHY Sweden didn't participate in the fighting in the war, the reason is not the one you likely been taught in school. Hear also about Sweden's important role in one of the world's greatest exploits in encryption and why the Japanese Marine Attaché's uniform and samurai sword and his wife's kimono can be found at the Army Museum and much, much more. After 6 month research in the Swedish and UK National Archives, we delve deeper in this tour, into some human destinies and events in Europe's spy center - Östermalm in Stockholm. Unlike our two other walking tours - Casablanca of the North and 12 female spies, in this tour we will focus on 6 spies and their activities in Stockholm during the Second World War - three women and three men who in different ways made an impression on history. These people's work had, to varying degrees, an impact on how Sweden was affected by the Second World War, either by working for Sweden or for the other warring parties that were active during the war. CITY WALK /SPY WALK - MEET 12 FEMALE SPIES
This new walking tour is a standalone continuation of our popular spy walk about World War II - Casablanca of the North and is about some of the, often completely unknown and forgotten, women who formed a very important part of Swedish intelligence history during the Second World War. Either for the Swedish side who spied on both Germans and Allies or who spied for the Germans and for the Soviet Union. This walking tour tells about 12 women who were an important part of history and who influenced the outcome of the Second World War in one way or another. Some of them are famous, but several the public has probably never heard of or heard a completely different story than what was actually the truth. Don't miss this unique walking tour that will ”blow your mind”... The walking tour is about 2-2.5 km long and takes about 2½ up to 3 hours depending on questions and audience composition and interest. CITY WALK /SPY WALK- IN THE SHADOW OF THE COLD WAR
Take a walk through the old top secret military area in Ursvik, Sundbyberg and hear about what the various buildings and storerooms hid, what the “Russians” knew about the operation of the area and much more. Hear about Swedish nuclear weapons, radioactive pigs, the origin of the romance killer, and so much more about the area's unique, top-secret history. We will also tell you about methods, recruitment, Swedish nuclear bombs and nuclear submarines, about FOA's top secret research into nuclear weapons and biological and chemical weapons and about the “pig that escaped” that could have caused a disaster, about how Ursvik was at the center of the news without ever being mentioned on several occasions in the 80s and how close Karlskrona was close to being annihilated by a nuclear explosion, narrated by “someone who was there” as well as whether it was working as a “spy” during the Cold War and how Swedish spies worked abroad. If time does not run out, we also talk about how a Swedish operator works in the near future and what equipment Swedish “agents” use, it's probably not what you think. Private Espionage City Tour
Private tour with a former member of the Swedish Intelligence community about WW2 Spy Capitol Stockholm and specifically Östermalm in Sweden. We will take you to different places and talk about famous spies and spy activities during WW2. The tour can last as long as you like and we will also take you to traditional Swedish places and talk about its history. This is a unique tour, like no other and our guide has extensive knowledge about Sweden's very much unknown spy history. In preparation for these tours, we ALWAYS read the original documents and have sifted through the pages in the national and secret police archives. This is a walking tour however, in accordance with your request, we can also arrange transportation but note, any transportation charges are paid by the participants. NOTE! CITY WALKING/SPY HIKE - WHAT HAPPENED TO CATS FALCK?
On November 18, 1984, journalist Cats Falck and her friend disappear without a trace after a visit to a restaurant. Join us on this unique tour that tells us about their bizarre spy story to say the least. Despite one of the most extensive search efforts in Swedish criminal history, the women remain engulfed by the earth. Only a little over 6 months later, on 29 May 1985, the women were found by military mine-divers from KA1 on another mission, in Lena Gräns upside-down car at the bottom of Norra Hammarby Harbour, strapped into the car's seat belts. What had happened? How did they get there? What was behind it? Google “Cats Falck” and thousands of posts, theories and claims come to light in the results, ranging from the official police accident theory to the East German STASI drowning them with “08 water”. What is true, what is nonsense, what is misdirection and what is “fake news”? After more than seven years of research and access to unique sources and archives that no one else had access to, we can uncover the truth about their disappearance in a dangerous Cold War Stockholm where spies, double agents and assassins were rampant. A Sweden and Stockholm where a young Swedish journalist had to pay the ultimate price when her journalistic work threatened powerful interests. Swedish Spy Museum Projekt is a non-profit project around creating an intelligence history museum in Sweden, a “Swedish Spy Museum”. Our subsidiary is Swedish Spy Tours which specializes in city walks and other events. Our insider guides take you through stories of spies, agents and secret and covert activities in Sweden throughout history, where we put these in their historical context Until our project with a physical museum can be realized, we organize lectures and, on the other hand, during the summer months, various “Spion” hikes. Our spy tours take place in historically interesting areas of intelligence, currently only within Stockholm County, but other hikes may come later. The walks vary in length but usually last between 2½ to 3½ hours depending on the extent of the hike and the guest's involvement.
