The Nordic Resistance Movements and the Spy War in Stockholm during World War II
Our new spy walking tour about the secret Stockholm of the resistance movements during World War II.
When Denmark and Norway were occupied in 1940, Stockholm became a crucial hub for the resistance movements in the Nordic countries. Here, intelligence was organized, couriers were sent across borders, and secret meetings were held in seemingly completely ordinary apartments and hotels.
In this tour we will tell you about the activities of the Danish, Norwegian and also Finnish resistance movements in Stockholm — often in the middle of the city's most exclusive neighbourhoods.
Here it planned sabotage, relayed vital information to the Allies, and organized escape routes for people who risked their lives.
But it was also a dangerous world filled with duplicity, suspicion and secret missions.
Among other things, we tell you about a couple of mysterious murders in Stockholm that still baffles historians and that many believe is connected with secret resistance networks and intelligence work.
You'll also hear about several charismatic woman who moved between multiple intelligence agencies, played a high game in the shadow world of war -- and about one that eventually disappeared without a trace after being accused of treason.
These are stories of courage, loyalty and betrayal — in the middle of neutral Stockholm.
A unique city walking tour that can only be done in Stockholm, where traces of the secret battle of the war still remain in the streets and buildings of the city.
The tour takes approx. 2½ hours but the length is influenced by questions, audience composition, and interest.

Swedish Spy Museum Projekt is a non-profit project around creating an intelligence history museum in Sweden, a “Swedish Spy Museum”. Our subsidiary is Swedish Spy Tours which specializes in city walks and other events.
Our insider guides take you through stories of spies, agents and secret and covert activities in Sweden throughout history, where we put these in their historical context
Until our project with a physical museum can be realized, we organize lectures and, on the other hand, during the summer months, various “Spion” hikes.
Our spy tours take place in historically interesting areas of intelligence, currently only within Stockholm County, but other hikes may come later.
The walks vary in length but usually last between 2½ to 3½ hours depending on the extent of the hike and the guest's involvement. For more specific information, click the book button under our respective events
Of course, both customized hikes and lectures are offered. For more information, please contact Johan by email: [johan@swedishspymuseum.se](mailto: johan@swedishspymuseum.se) or by phone: 073-730 94 99
